Amerson House Spirituality Center is managed by a group of parishioners who value the sacred space of Amerson House. We work as a volunteer team to develop programs and offer hospitality. The work itself is a mission to provide a contemplative environment so needed in the world and to practice balancing work and prayer in our lives. We seek to make our work an opportunity to practice mindfulness both in our meetings and as we make beds and clean toilets. We hope that you feel the spirit of prayer in the house as we do.
We have a variety of areas of work and welcome for people both in and outside of the parish. The areas of work, which people can join in to whatever degree they feel inspired, include: gardening, house maintenance, hospitality and marketing. A few times a year we hold “Benedictine Work Mornings,” which seek to balance prayer and conscious work. Many people have found these experiences to be enlivening.
